♡I was made for loving you♡

even though we may be hopeless hearts
just passing through

The warm sun brushes softly against her blanched face. Eyes of baby blue remain closed against the brightness of the midday light. The sun’s warmth creeps into every crevice of her bleached body, warming her from the bottom of her hooves encrusted in twinkling snow, all the way to the tip of her fuzzy, cupped ears, that swivel this way and that, attempting to catch any wondrous sounds that make their way across the Inlet.

Suddenly, azure eyes flash open in a wild ecstasy before Jaci pushes those agile hooves off the snowy terrain and into a bright gallop, colorless banners flying behind her in a display of glee and joy. The snow makes tender crunching noises beneath every step she takes and the ocean crashes its waves against the icy shores in the distance. For Jaci, it provides the perfect soundtrack for this chilly, yet sunny day.

She, the girl named after the moon and its bright light, is not watching where she is going. She is busy thinking of things. She thinks of funny things, like how the tired bluejay opens its eyes at the first light of day and yawns. Jaci is thinking of sad things, like the love between two ladybugs, who have to cross a puddle the size of an ocean to get to one another. She thinks of happy things, like the way the winter hare crunches his nose and puffs his soft cheeks. And she thinks, as always, of places she has never been and people she has never met. What these people she has never met are doing in these places she has never been to.

But Jaci has too many silly thoughts in her brain and she doesn't see who is up ahead as she races through the snow, the chill wind whistling through her ears, eyes glazed over, the winter breeze brushing its icy fingers through her ghostly locks, spreading the hair apart like fine thread. All this euphoria keeps her from seeing Orkaan in the distance but the call of an eagle to its mother, lover, father, sister, or brother seeks her attention and she sees his duo colored pelt coming up in front of her in the distance. Back end slides quickly downward, sprightly legs digging into the frosted landscape below her whitened hooves. She slides and slides and slides along the icy surface, cerulean eyes growing wider as she gets closer to her king. And finally, she slides right to a halt, her pink muzzle extended in her attempt at stopping herself, it hits his shoulder lightly. ‘Well,” she says a little shyly for that display of ungraceful behavior. Then she laughs because Jaci had learned to laugh at herself because she is not perfect, far from it, and she knows this, and now Orkaan certainly knows it now too. She smiles, and in her smile she has as much carefree abandon as she had when she was galloping over the arctic landscape. “it seems recklessly racing has brought me to you.” And she smiles again because the day had started beautiful and pure and joyful, but now Orkaan was here and it could only lead to more elation in the snowy kingdom.
