Psychedelic, though knowing there were blind horses in the islands, had never actually dealt with one himself. Aurora wasn’t entirely blind, but he still paused and regarded the cloudy film which seemed to lie over her eyes and considered how much worse life would be without sight. Ultimately, the consensus was he’d never want to experience what she experienced and if he were thinking in the old way he’d know her weaknesses and when was best to capitalize on her condition.

Hey, there’s a thought. Maybe this ‘Bob’ character you’re putting on will be to our advantage when you finally smarten up and head back to the Lagoon… you can trick sweet little caring idiots into revealing their weaknesses by making them comfortable around you!

It took every last inch of Psychedelic’s good sense to keep from flattening his ears and roaring in an irritated shout at the voices cheerfulness in his head. I’M NEVER GOING BACK! He wanted to shout, growing wearier and wearier the longer the voice pressed him day in and day out. Seeing as how he was in a conversation with Aurora and didn’t suddenly want to frighten her, he was somehow able to hold on to his reservations and only offer her a pleasant, faintly concerned expression. “I’m sorry to hear the pain hasn’t lessened.” He said, though the words felt empty when he spoke them – even if they sounded warm and genuine. He didn’t feel these things… but he needed to. He needed to feel everything Bob was meant to feel.

“I couldn’t imagine living what you live through,” he continued, shifting his weight to settle more comfortably in her presence. “Yet you still manage to remain so kind and cheerful.” He cracked a somewhat rueful grin. “I think something like that would have driven me crazy a long time ago.”
