The water was strange, she thought, but it was fun too - Eira seemed to enjoy it as well, which only made Badar grin all the wider to herself as the pair of them frolicked about its depths. She had grown curious about the deeper, darker patches that formed off shore but Eira had been quick to take her mind off of them; the implicit danger had gone over her head, her curiosity stronger than her fear it seemed. In time, she'd explore them but for now, she'd chase her sister; she splashed through the shallows with heavy, bounding strides. She had barely noticed her sister stopping but the smell had caught her off guard - she almost ran right into Eira before she sidestepped and flopped down to a stop next to her instead.
She looked up as her sister spoke with the stranger; her nose wrinkled as she sniffed but it smelt...familiar. Food? Or at least, like some kinds of food - the kind that got dug up sometimes, or the funny furry things that her parents sometimes told them not to chew on. But it was the stranger's friend - ah, he was no stranger - their brother's friend that made her most curious.
She nodded to affirm her name as her sister spoke it; there was comfort in having somebody else able to speak it for her. She seldom thought of her inability to speak as little more than a, well, a fact but often it was annoying to not be able to give her name to others. They were never clever enough to guess it or give her something appropriate instead; she wondered if she'd be able to collect many names, like trinkets from the beach.
In any case, she scrambled forward on her belly towards their older brother with a swat of her paws at his own - and his friend. Her tail thumped against the sound and she bared her teeth in a playful, silent growl. Their brother was so big - it'd make for a fun challenge to take him and his friend down!
