we were born sick

Warsaw
grey overo stallion - 11 years old - mutt - 16hh - devil’s retribution x sojourner - inlet king

If he played the stupid stallion card right, he might just get out of this. Mares saw stallions as hormone driven things that did everything a certain way because of their testosterone. He couldnt say they were lying, especially come breeding season, but there was more to him than that. There was a deeper motive to what he was doing now. Challenging for Freya was a mistake, but meeting Persephone was not. He took his jump to the gun and was turning it into something with meaning. He had to or there would be no justification.

He did not know how to respond to Persephone's answer. He could say the truth, say he was attracted to Freya, but they might put him in another bind. Just maybe she would pity him for his male hormones, but he wasn't sure if he wanted to take that risk. She would probably assume the truth anyway, so his eyes just dropped to the ground. "You're right." Maybe if he looked lovesick she might forget about that part of the conversation. He could always claim to be lonely.

Now, she begins to speak on his question and she mentions her tie with the Bay's Queen. It was no surprise to him they were friends. Of course the females would band together, they always do, and perhaps that is how they began conquering these islands. He had to inquire more and not just from Persephone. He needed to speak with Mariael again and any other female lead out there. From there his investigation would grow to the males.

He was curious about the male to female ratio.

The mare tells on her Queenship being the quite similar to his Kingship. He disagrees, but of course he doesn't say that out loud. He just nods like he is listening and learning. "So is it just you and Mariael that lead a herd or are there other Queens?" He watches her with curiosity. If there were more he had to find them as well and learn what kind of mares they were. Persephone here seemed smart, at least she talked smartly, and Mariael seemed strong. He was sure they made a good team, but he was not worried. He never was.
