The below-linked article, which ranks U.S. Presidents from worst to best, was put out by CBS News. As stated in the article, the rankings were based on detailed polling of ninety-one historians.

Here is an excerpt from the rankings list:

40 Harding
33 George Bush

26 Carter
25 Ford
20 G.H.W. Bush

11 LBJ
9 Reagan
8 JFK

5 Ike

[I don't know that either Democrats or Republicans would necessarily agree with those rankings]
