It didn’t take long for Ernesto to notice a figure creeping towards him. With a glance, he was surprised to find that he recognised the face. Cherish. Her words rang true. It had been quite some time since they last saw each other, since Cherish had escaped from the Lagoon. Ernesto had never made any effort to find her or chase her after she had left, but her appearance brought a smile to his lips all the same. He had no real interest in harassing those who didn’t want his company – not for too long, at least – but if they were going to show up again and approach him, well he wouldn’t say no to that. “Cherish,” he greeted, his voice low and warm. “Long time no see, hermosa.” He tilted his head at her, drinking her in. She had been going through something strange the last time they really spoke. Something strange enough that her son had not wanted to follow her from the Lagoon. “If I remember rightly you were sneaking away from the Lagoon last time I saw you.” It was a statement lightly delivered, no anger or annoyance I his voice, only a little curiosity.
