live life to the fullest

She didn't actually expect the mare to take her up on her offer, sure that she was so far down on the list that she couldn't be helpful, even if she wanted to be. When the pensive look appeared on the paint's features though, Creed pricked her ears in surprise as she waited to hear what the other mare would say. She finally told Creed to keep her eyes out on anything out of the ordinary. Creed nodded vigorously, telling herself that anything that would help out Persephone and the rest of her herd, she would be glad to take part in. She didn't know exactly what "out of the ordinary" entailed but she would keep vigilant for anything and everything, just to be on the safe side. "I can do that. Thank you." She smiled, grateful to be of service to the mare.

The mare told her not to blame herself, which had Creed ducking her head with her ears laid back again in shame, but she listened and finally nodded again, albeit slower this time in agreement. "Ok." The thought of staying safe from the stallion that plagued them sounded like a good plan to Creed, so if if she needed to get closer to the rest of the herd to keep that happening, she would do it. Suddenly, the mare seemed to realize that she never gave her name. Creed only smiled in answer. Yes, she had seen the mare around but so far she'd only met Persephone and Hannah in person. She'd never asked anyone for the paint mare's name. The mare gave her name as Evren and Creed smiled wider and pricked her ears with interest, glad to memorize the name to heart for the kind mare who helped out Persephone.

Evren went on to confirm that Persephone had left her in charge. She said she used to lead a herd and Creed's eyes widened in surprise as her nostrils flared. "Wow, so now I know two lead mares! How exciting!" Her tail swished in her eagerness. She smiled. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Evren." Then Evren asked about her and Creed ducked her head a little, feeling a little shy, but she looked back up with a smile and flicked her ears uncertainly as she spoke. "Oh, um, well, I came from another land, much further inland. There was no ocean or waves to swim through there. Just creeks and lakes. I lived in a valley with my parents and my herd. It was peaceful but, to be honest, I got bored of it and decided I wanted an adventure so I left my herd and got lost."

She shivered, remembering the scary nights alone in the woods. "I wandered for a while before I found myself in the meadow and that's where Persephone found me. She talked to me and then invited me here so I swam over with her and decided to stay. Plus, I don't know if I can ever get myself to get back in the water to leave, anyway." She glanced toward the waves and snorted, her eyes showing her fear.
