Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

There seemed to be quite the growing gathering on the other side of the strange nature-made bridge and Cass was starting to wonder if they were there to watch him cross or something. Did they think he was there for their entertainment or something? He scoffed at the thought but held his ground. He wouldn't want them to think him a coward, right? The newest member to join, a young girl around his age, stared at him in a worried fashion. Did she think he wasn't going to cross or did she not want him to cross? He couldn't discern it from here. She was too far away. The other young girl around his age seemed to be investigating the bridge, sniffing around where it met the land where they were standing. Cass watched her intently, wanting to make sure it passed her inspection cause surely she knew what she was looking for, right?

She seemed pleased with the results, grinning back at the older male wolf standing with them. He must be either their father or babysitter or something. He had a protective stance like he was guarding them but he also held himself in an authoritative way like he had power, too. Cass couldn't help but wonder what rank he held in the pack. Surely the alpha wouldn't bother to follow two pups to a bridge, right? That had to be below his pay grade. He knew he probably couldn't get his own alpha to come check it out; that's for sure. He hadn't even met the guy yet. The first girl put her paws on the bridge as if to try it out and Cass leaned in a little, watching intently, but when she noticed the second girl, she immediately leapt away to go say hi. Cass huffed in impatience. Girls. Didn't they know the bridge's safety was much more important?

None the less, he watched as the two girls greeted each other before his attention was called back to the older wolf as he called out to him. Cass couldn't make out what he was saying but he took another step closer as he strained to hear. When he saw quick movement, his gaze swept back to the first girl, who seemed to be bouncing on her paws and making sweeping motions at him with her tail, as if to tell him he was welcome to come over or something. So, that must mean the bridge is safe, right? That it passed her inspection? He watched as the girl then loped back to the bridge and put her paws on it again, as if testing it one last time. If that wasn't a sign that it was safe, he didn't know what was! Grinning at the girl as if to tell her he got the message, Cass easily leapt up onto the bridge and started moving his way across.

Not far onto it, the bridge shifted and he gasped as he lowered to his stomach, his dull claws trying to grip the wood as it swayed in the rushing water. Glancing back over at the family of wolves, he let out a breath he was holding and slolwy started belly crawling across the logs, figuring it was better to keep his center of gravity as low as possible. No need to get swept off into the water, right?
