The strange way of the world

He assumed his world was how it was supposed to be. The only reason he didn't have mares of his own was because of his own personality shotcomings. Mares liked stallions who asserted themselves and showed some drive. Requiem had none of those things having been handed a land without any effort. He had everything he could dream of except someone (or someone's) to share the Bay with. Being raised by Warsaw to respect his laws and follows his commands seemed like a natrual thing. This mare speaks to him like he was some kind of puppet.

He wanted to get angry, but he told himself this mare didn't understand. She didn't understand the loyal he felt for his family and the ones he grew up with. He would never ask put of respect, but he thought maybe this mare was all alone. He held his tongue through all the hurtful words and silence soon falls between them. The mare seems to be looking around as words slip off her tongue. He wasn't sure he heard right, but it was almost as if she felt sorry for him. He was confused what this young mare really thought about him.

She disses Warsaw and he realizes this mare might know who his father was. Not many females were friends of the Inlet. Not many males seemed to be as well..she did not seem to be a friend of his. Requiem would just have to accept he might not make many friends than what he already had. Pity they were almost all related to him. He notices the mare's posture begins to change just before she spoke.

This time he has to say something. "Does my loyalty to Warsaw prevent us from ever being friends?" He asks because he would like the oppurtunity to befriend the stranger, but she seemed set in her thoughts about Warsaw. She had it in her head his loyalty meant he was the same way by fellowship. "I may be loyal to Warsaw, but I am not the same stallion. I do not collect mares as I have none. I do not challenge others to duels at random and I have conquered nothing to gain the Bay. The Bay was handed to me out of duty and I lead it out of duty, but I do not go out of my way to make Warsaw proud." He takes a deep breath.

"On that note, I leave the Bay open to you should you ever need somewhere to rest your head, but know I do not plan on betraying Warsaw." Aside from the talk with Liland about the Bay, this was probably the most serious he has been. Brown eyes stared at Wasp without blinking, without even looking away.
