let the water crash over me right now

every day it feels like I’m holding back an ocean

She is still visibly shaken, from the interaction with Frostbane that haunts her waking moments and her nightmares too, and from the great swim she had just endured. But, the stallion was clearly kind (or Elena was simply naive) and she finds herself starting to relax, realizing exactly how tired she truly was in that moment. “The pleasure is mine,” she says politely, always polite, her manners had been something her parents had instilled in her and she was determined to see it through, to make them proud in any way she possibly could. Those pale blue eyes blink at him curiously. She offers him a small smile, one of the only things she feels at liberty to give in this moment.

Another new place, another place she would have to learn to live within because she could never return to the place she was born. This has yet to hit Elena with its full force and so while it makes her heart ache, she considers it is for another place at another time. For now, she is unaware of the emerald eyes that have looked hungrily at her pelt, gazed down her womanly curves and landed upon her face. It is a surprise when he joins them and the sunflower child offers him the same as she had with her current companion, a smile and nod. She has nothing else to give, her company is a poor exchange for theirs at this time, this she knows. And she is sorry, she says it in the way she cannot keep those glacial blues transfixed on their own.

But, some how, despite the ordeal she has just been through, that old familiar humor manages to make its way through, like sand falling through closed hands. She laughs, a small, thing, short lived, but a laugh all the same. “Well, isn't that fitting,” she comments, blinking glacial eyes, eyes of her mother. “Because I think I am quite lost, yet found all the same,” she says, that golden blonde head continuing to whirl.

This is when she offers the other stallion, the first that had approached her a friendly face. “The desert sounds lovely,” she says then. “I think I would like to visit before making a decision, I haven't been able to see many deserts in my life,” she says. No, the waterfall stationed in Windskeep had been grandeur and empowering, she doubted the desert had such a landmark, she doubted any where here did. “Rougaru, I will admit it is a pleasure,” she says, blinking those day hued eyes, those dark lashes gracing downwards for a moment before they open once more in his direction.

“I’m Elaina, I come from far away,” she says, not sure how else to sum up the life she has been living for the past few days. “I think we can continue to make this gathering peaceful, is all those present wish it,” she says, and though her words may sound scolding, in truth, they are subtle and kind. Elaina was hardly one for such a harsh manner on someone undeserving. She glances to both of them in turn before her glacial gaze, like the frost that sticks to the ground in the morning when the weather grows cold, to Rougaru. “I offer the same as Liland, if you will take it. A chance to visit before I make a decision. If this is to be my home, I want to do it right,” she says, and her heart thrums in her chest. She has never had to find a home before. She wonders if this—if this is something she can even do on her own.
