Never let me go (Birth)

She should have known the child of Rougaru would be difficult.

She walks the beach with an uncomfortable look on her face. Everything felt swollen and painful. Her ankles felt as large as her barrel, but she knew there was no way this could be true. A long sigh rolls off her tongue as the baby inside her tummy kicks. She had to keep reminding herself this wasn't the child's fault. All this drama stemmed from the father and the life he wishes to create here on Atlantis. The island was very beautiful, but she could not enjoy the beauty when she felt her heart belonged somewhere else.

She felt the beginning of labor set in, it was similar to how she before Primrose was born, so she found a walkable path into some thick brush. Her labor intisyfied almost instantly with pains she had never felt having her daughter. Hours went by and nothing had subsided. Sanibel drcided she could no longer just lay as she birthed so she stood and began to pace through the heavy vegetation. She squeals in her pain, coated in a heavy sweat, and she prays no one was watching.

She felt so vunerable right now. Vunerable and hurt. The agony continues for another couple hours, perhaps six in total, before the end was finally near. The high trees blocked her veiw of the sky or she would realize how much time has passed since she first walked in the thick of the trees. She grooms the palomino colt that lay at her hooves. He was fragile and new, nothing like the stallion that forced his seed into her belly. He didn't deserve the father he had.

She spent all the time she could alone with her son, but he would come looking from them soon. Sanibel would always cherish these minutes, this calm before the storm. Now she would have to fave that smug look on Rougaru's face when he meets his son and later face the pain on Shamwari's when she comes home with another stallion's baby. She dreamed this boy to be his. She sighs and urges her colt up before leading him to the beach. Sanibel stares across the darkening sky thay lay over the water. The colt suckles underneath her as she digs deep into a sense of peace alone with her child. As soon as she felt he was strong enough, they would swim away from here and never look back.
