Persephone had been on high alert since her return to the Forest. She often took patrols around the perimeter of the territory, and if she wasn’t observing their surroundings then Evren was doing the same. She was grateful for her companion’s assistance and loyalty during this difficult time. It almost felt as if the stress had brought them closer together at times, an unexpected development in this scenario. Because of this, it didn’t take long for Persephone to catch the familiar, unwelcome sense of Warsaw at the edge of her home. She diverted her path immediately, breaking free of the shadows of the trees as swiftly as she could manage, at which time she spotted her enemy on the shore, harassing the young Creed. She approached them at a canter, driving herself purposefully between the two of them as she came to a halt. She pinned her ears at Warsaw as she neared, tossing her head with a snort. “Are you lost, Warsaw?” she quipped, her voice controlled but sharp. “Get out of here.” |
