Shaydowfax had been wondering the border between the dunes and the desert when her nostrils had picked up a stallions scent on the border. It was fairly fresh, a few days old at most. She stands at the border her lip raised in the Fleming response as she tries to determine who he was. Was he just a passerby or has he laid claim to the desert? She pawed the ground warily.

Well she needed to know if she had a neighbor and how friendly they would be. So she releases a call for who ever it may be. Her ears swiveling upon her cranium now listening to all the sounds coming from every direction. Her tail lashing out hitting herself and the flies who dared to pester her. Her nostrils take in the scent again as she waits.

She needed to make sure her herd wasn't in danger from this other horse. Kalona her son was resting in the bush's not far from her. She always stashed him in a bush so it be harder for a predator but she never went far from him and he could bound over to her at any given moment, but she hoped he would remain asleep till she knew who this stallion was.
