The Rules
  • There will be no fraternizing with enemies. If you put yourself knowingly in danger, don't expect a rescue.
  • We are only as strong as our weakest link. See to it that you are getting stronger in some skill that is useful, whether it is battling, recruiting, charming, etc.
  • The King and Queen have final say in all matters.

Her intense gaze watching him brought out the inner colt in him that he never really got to be in his captivity. He felt the urge to prance around and show off how strong and fearless he was. Instead he only arched his neck and trotted alongside her proudly. He knew some might look upon the Desert and not such much, but it was home to him already and he wouldn't change a thing. She seemed amused every time she managed to get an inkle of irritation out of him but then, he could relate to that, since he liked to get under someone's skin, as well. When he said that he would gladly exhaust himself defending his herd, she only gave a coy smile and he had to take that as his first win. She must have believed him, otherwise he was sure she'd have some witty disagreement to throw out.

She was all sarcasm when he commented on the mares he'd met across the islands so far, playing the disbelief card even as she flicked her tail against his muzzle and moved past him. He didn't try to intercept her to change her path. Here in the Desert, she was pretty much free to roam at her leisure. In fact, he wanted her to get out and explore, to learn to love this place as much as he did. As she stopped and looked around, he stopped as well to give her space, tilting his head as she made a comment about a red carpet roll out not being too terrible. He snorted and shook out his mane. "Would the blood of your enemies make do?" At least that was red. He chuckled when she mentioned adoration and obsession. "Well, I did dance with you in the Commons and not let you leave my sight till we got here. Kind of close, don't you think?" Okay, so it was more her challenging him and him meeting that challenge but even so, it counted in his book.

He thought she'd be happy that he wasn't going to force the issue of her having his foal. Sure, he'd like nothing better than to see a handful of his sons and daughters running around the Desert come foaling season but he didn't want every proud mare in his herd to hate him for forcing himself on them either. He should have known it wouldn't be so straight forward as that, though. In fact, she actually looked a little put off by his easy agreement, like she expected an argument and was mad that he didn't push the issue. Her eyes glittered with a new light that made him raise his head and flick his ears in puzzlement. She raised her own head to meet his before saying that he might be the blessed one. He chuckled. "Oh, I have no doubt about that. I'm just not sure you can handle such a burden. I mean....I'm not exactly little...I wouldn't want to hurt you after all." He was playing the innocent concerned card now but his eyes glittered just a little with mischief.

She liked games of wit and charm so he could play it too. Maybe in the back of her mind, she did want to carry his foal and if so, he'd suss it out by challenging her. After all, she certainly seemed to like those.
