Devil's gonna get you if I don't first

He spots his gold and white daughter searching for food in the distance. The filly was just starting to learn the natural way of eating grass, but at this time in the seasons, there was no much he could do to help her get her belly full. The Inlet grew colder faster than the other islands and with it, the snow came early and the grass underneath it died. He might not be able to help her find much more, but he could help ease her mind with stories. A distraction would be good right about now.

His foals were old enough so it was time to gather them all and explain their heritage. It would be their mother's job to explain her side of the story, but Warsaw expects all his young to follow one simple religious rule, taking his name along with their own. It shows respect to the sire as well as announces their bloodline. They needed to always follow this rule and pass it on to their children one day. He has been working with the twins on their heritage, but it was time he spread this knowledge to the rest of his young before he was unable to. He was too late for Torsten unless he was able to get the boy back, but one day he would find him again and explain everything.

"Neferyt de Warsaw." He says as he approaches his daughter. "This is your true name." Neferyt was the only one left to teach this to since Tauri wasn't his and Torsten was gone. "When others ask who you are or what your name is that should be your answer. Your given name by your mother followed by the name of your sire. This not only tells them your name but also your bloodline. Speak my name proudly with your own, that it the way of my grandfather." Warsaw never met his grandfather, but his mother did teach him the religion she was thought when she was young. He may not have agreed with all of it, but this one thing he did carry around and teach to all his young he was involved with.

"Would you like to know more about your ancestry and where my parents came from?" He asks the girl, watching her expression for any signs that she was interested in learning. Not all foals could sit still long to learn from their old father.
