He was doing everything he could not to let her hear his teeth chattering as the water stuck to his thin coat, leaving him vulnerable in the harsh cool air. He knew that this place wasn't the best for him, but Xiomara wanted him here so he would tough it out. What other choice did he have? You could just give up and die. "Fuck you." He whispered under his breath. Maybe he hated himself sometimes (okay, most of the time) but that didn't mean he wanted to die. Once he was dry, he knew he would feel at least a little better. As if to spur that thought into action, he nudged his head to Xiomara. "Walk with me?" Then he started to walk further inland, away from the water churning at his hooves. The cold air hitting his skin made him shiver again but he knew the movement would help to get his blood pumping and dry him off a little quicker.

Her answer was simple. Maybe not what he wanted to hear but it wasn't like she'd just admitted to making a mistake either. He smirked a little before nodding. "Okay." He would take that for now. It's not like you're an asset or anything. What did you expect her to say? That she wanted you here? Get over yourself. He snorted softly, shaking out his mane as he walked. Then she said that she was glad he'd been here before, that maybe it would help him survive the winter. He tilted his head, surveying her for a moment. Did she really think so little of him that he wouldn't make it? Or was she just worried? She was so hard to read. It's definitely not worry and if it were, it would only be that she was now down two herd members instead of just the one she traded for your worthless ass. Swishing his tail, he thought of Solaris and Galexia and how usually he would be cuddled up against them at night, using their body warmth to stay warm himself. He shivered again.

"Guess it's too much to ask for an extra body for warmth?" His ears flicked back and forth uncertainly, unsure of how she'd take the joke. It had mostly just slipped out after his thought. It wasn't like he expected her to curl up with him or anything. He was sure Solaris would definitely have something to say about that.
