The Rules
  • There will be no fraternizing with enemies. If you put yourself knowingly in danger, don't expect a rescue.
  • We are only as strong as our weakest link. See to it that you are getting stronger in some skill that is useful, whether it is battling, recruiting, charming, etc.
  • The King and Queen have final say in all matters.

She stiffened the minute she heard his voice and he snorted softly, swishing his tail as he let out a sigh. Seemed he was going to keep getting that reaction from most mares. She watched him warily as he got closer but he felt a wave of hope when she didn't jump or try to run. Maybe he could get a conversation out of her this time. She didn't answer when he said that she was good at hiding, her face hard to read but he had a feeling she was probably trying to avoid him. Seems he had a lot of horses that liked to do that in the Desert. When her stomach made a noise, his ears flicked and his brow furrowed in concern. Was she not eating? He'd have to fix that straight away. When he gave his name, she finally found her voice, saying that she could give him the same courtesy now that she knew his.

He didn't even flinch when she chose to call him a beast. It definitely wasn't the worst name he'd been called on the islands. She gave her name as Primrose then, then saying it again longer and he tilted his head and arched a brow in question. "What does Primrose de Shamwari mean? Is that your last name or something?" He'd never heard of a name like that before. Was it common on the islands? Then she said that he needed to learn how to treat a lady and asked if his mother taught him anything. He snorted, his eyes narrowing a bit at the thought of his mother. He wasn't even sure he could remember what she looked like. His ears flicked back and his voice got rougher when he replied, a hint of the dark story she was about to walk into if she kept on. "Only as much as she could teach in a year's time, which wasn't much. I don't remember most of it." He wasn't even being sarcastic this time, his brow furrowing again as if he was trying to remember.

Finally he shook his head with another snort. The past was in the past. She said that her family would look for her and he would be finished when they saw what he did. He couldn't help but smirk, a chuckle falling from his lips as he tossed his head, his eyes losing the darkness they had to them only seconds earlier as he surveyed her. "They'll have to get in line. Seems I'm pretty popular with the island residents already." He looked her over, scowling suddenly when he remembered the sound her stomach made. "Besides, I gave you sanctuary and safety within my borders. Are you not eating enough?" He watched her closer when he asked that, as if thinking if he glared a little, maybe she wouldn't lie to him.
