She asked after his shoulder and the dark stallion told her that it would heal. She nodded. "Of course it will." Her brow arched up knowingly, wondering if he was one of those stallions who didn't like to let others see him weak, but she bit her tongue. She then told him how Shaydowfax invited her to the Dunes and that she liked it here. He lifted his own brow at that, as if surprised. She looked around in response with a shrug. "It grows on you." And so it had. She was even sure her future child would love it. Then he told her that he was born here and her eyes widened. He glanced off toward the borders, telling her that he was born in the Desert but was ushered away by his mother. Her brow furrowed in concern as she leaned in a little. "Why did she have you leave? Was it dangerous?" She was always curious of others' stories and this was nothing she wanted to pass up. Maybe his father didn't die of natural causes or maybe his mother knew that whoever took over after wouldn't be so fond of her family. Bahadir told her that he showed up in the Desert but was attacked by someone named Cain. She snorted at the name before shaking her head. "I haven't heard that name before, but I think Shaydowfax went to see the neighbors after taking over. She would probably know him." The stallion told her he was attacked many times before coming here and Illusion scowled and flicked her ears back in distaste. "Sounds like he is no gentleman." Her expression softed and she offered him a smile. "For what it's worth, it's nice to have a stallion around. Shaydowfax is a capable leader, don't get me wrong. I trust her. It's just weird to be in a herd of all mares."
