Use caution when the Wolf comes aknockin;

Rougaru kept careful watch over his herd as the days progressed. Special attention was given to Monster and Zjeena. Though he knew that Zjeena still had some time before she gave birth, he was still cautiously protective. Monster especially. The beautiful two toned viper was his previous jewel. His fiery ruby filled with all the raw emotions of their relationship. She embraced the wolf, the beast that lurked and he welcomed that freedom. With her, he did not worry about breaking her with fear, did not worry about causing her to rebuke. She wanted that beast and he adored her for it.

Nostrils flare as she moves away now, emerald eyes transfixed upon her with intense curiosity. Without a word he knew... It was time. Nervous tension builds within him now as the chocolate brown stallion paces towards the protective group of trees in which she sought her solitude. For the first time in a long time, the stallion feels an ackward sense of being. A part of him wants to be at her side, to offer encouraging nuzzles and warmth. He wanted her to know that despite his inability to fight this battle... He was here. But then there was the wolf, the rough voice that reminded him this was something she must do alone.

So despite the urge, Rougaru merely kept to the shaded trees, offering an occasional wuff from his nostrils or a shake of his mane to assure her he was there.

Finally he hears her rising, hears the heave of her weary frame as she shuffled from the shadows and though it felt like an eternity to him, he waits patiently for a single glimpse of the foal that she delivered.

Like her mother's shadow the filly moves in tune with his viper. Her small nostrils quivering as she inhaled the new scents and ears twitched to the strange sounds of her new world. Rougaru could not hide the proud smile that curved across his whiskered lips. A soft nicker rumbles from his lungs as cautiously he approaches mother and daughter, head lowered as he forces his prancing feet to halt. "She is beautiful" he murmurs, his ashen lips brushing along Monster's own, emerald eyes glittering with fierce pride. "Well done my viper. You have chosen a name?" He inquires his gaze drawing away from the painted mare to his painted daughter. Gingerly he lips at her painted flank, inhaling the damp silken skin and savoring the milky scent of his newest brood.
