The sweltering summer heat beats down relentlessly on his mahogany back, as he strolls easily across the sands. Since Shamwari had been by to visit a few days earlier he has kept his dark eyes trained on the ocean, he had sought an alliance and they had made an agreement. He lifts his delicately chiseled crown high on his arched neck, his nostrils flaring as they test the wind that rushes off of the ocean. It offers relief as it touseles his tangled locks and cools the prickles of sweat that darken his mahogany coat to near black.

He fondly remembers Darshan - who he now knows - is Shamwari's queen. She had just arrived on the Islands, when she was met by Rougaru, who had not been so kind to the beautiful woman. He had stepped in, knowing that he risked it all to save her from the fate that Rougaru had planned for her.

A movement pulls his thoughts from his memory, a pale figure pulls herself from the sea. This must be the mare Shamwari spoke of. He lingers, his dark eyes flicking over her lithe pale form, she is fine boned much like his arabic ancestors. He steps forth, his tail flags out behind him as he trots toward her to welcome her to the Dunes. The sands shift with his weight, and his muscles ripple beneath his mahogany hide with every stride.

As he nears her, he slides to a halt and tosses his dished crown. He eyes the pale woman a moment, noticing the quiet look of dismay on her chiseled face. The Dunes is different from the Prairie, where one is teeming with grass the other is filled with sand. But there is a hidden beauty to these lands, one just needs to know where to search. "Welcome to the Dunes, I am Bahadır, sultan of these lands, " he pauses as he eyes her. "May I know your name? " he asks as he lowers his head to match the height of hers.
