can you see me now?

She hadn't spoken to the lead stallion since he returned from his battle with Shaydowfax, but she'd seen him patrolling the Dunes and talking to other members of the herd enough to know he was still present. Surely he'd seen plenty of her as well since she was on the move a lot after Raptor's birth. It was like the filly only know how to run once she found her legs. She had plenty of spirit. When Illusion heard someone approaching, she instantly tensed, her protective instincts urging her to put herself between the other and her daughter, but as her head snapped up and her gaze set on Bahadir, she snorted softly, letting the tension leave her body as she relaxed and her gaze turned curious. He nickered to her and she lowered her head, ears pricked as she gave a soft nicker in return, holding out her muzzle to greet him openly. It was nice to talk to adults for a change after all the arguments with her daughter.

He said that he hoped she was faring well and she smiled with a nod. "Of course. The Dunes treat me well." She knew all the good grazing places and the best spots for shelter here. She'd been sure to map all that out not long after coming to the Dunes when Shaydowfax invited her here. When he looked at her again, she couldn't help but lift a brow in question. He seemed thoughtful, like there were things he wanted to ask but he wasn't opening his mouth, at least not at first. He looked like he had a lot on his mind though. Her tail gave a swish as she lowered her head patiently to take another bite of grass, giving him a chance to ask whatever it was he was getting to without her staring at him. The question that finally left his lips had her lifting her head again in puzzlement, tilting her head to study his expression for a moment before she answered.

"As safe as I would be in any other herd. I have other members to look for danger and a strong lead stallion to help fight off said danger if it were a threat to the herd. Of course, I wouldn't hesitate to throw my teeth between someone and my daughter so there's that, too." She said the last bit with a small smirk on her lips, before her expression sobered and she looked at the stallion more closely. Reaching out, she gently nudged at Bahadir's shoulder with her nose. "What's on your mind? You can tell me." She offered him a small smile, her ears pricked attentively.
