His eyes were completely focused on the newborn right now, but the chaos around him demanded to be answered. Another stallion at the memorial charges his advances and successfully pulls his eyes away from the colt. Cullen was determined to leave this war with winnings anywhere from young colts to grown adults, but this motherless colt was interesting to him. Unlike the other foals in the area, the motherless colt would be relying on his care more than most would. He would be his to mold without an angry mother storming in on them. This blue roan was the first roadblock in his way. Tarek lands one blow to his flank, but Cullen cocks up his hind leg and strikes out in retaliation.

To his surprise, his left shoulder is suddenly struck, knocking him off balance. The golden Boss of the Lagoon stumbles to stand his ground as blue eyes turn to glare at the creature who stuck their hoof into his shoulder. He comes face to face with a large draft mare. He could feel the passion in her attack, even now as his shoulder throbs, but she was about to feel his own passion. This mare felt like more of an opponent despite her gender and she might just be the reason he loses this potential young bachelor. But this mare had some drama of her own following her. Cullen watches in confusion as a younger draft mix attacks the large mare who had just struck him.

He takes this opportunity to rush past the mass of skirmishing horses and race towards the newborn. There was still the matter of the blue roan who first challenged him and the painted stallion who stands the closest to the colt. He would deal with them as they come. His jaws open with a cracking sound as he aims them to snap at the newborn's rump, in attempts to usher him into the sea. His head swivels swiftly between the colt and the painted stallion next to him. There was no way he would let the child go without a fight. Behind the scenes, he heard the call of his clansmen. He calls back hastily in a way to bring the cremello stallion forward in aiding his advances on this innocent child.
