The road goes ever on

Again he failed to bring her home. It was disheartening to feel defeat especially from someone of the fairer sex. That white-faced mare was defiantly giving mares a more fearsome image, but he knew not all mares were like that. He couldn't imagine what the draft mare would want with Feray, but he had to have her back before spring and she gave birth to their first foal. A lot was going on for the young stallion so he shouldn't be out here wandering the meadow for a new face. It wasn't that he expected to bring home another mare, but an outsider would be nice to talk to. Someone he didn't know the souls he has connected with and didn't know the evil forces he faced. Even though Feray assured him the mare was a perfectly good host.

There was more than just Feray on is mind, but her capture worried him the most. He still wasn't sure if Nova trusted him yet and he didn't know if Lucifina could forgive his loss of her best friend. He didn't know who would come next to take something away that he loved. A stressed sigh leaves his pale lips as his legs guide him lazily across the meadow. He passes by many faces of horses chatting idly, but he never stopped long enough to catch anything any of them were saying. Roheryn just kept walking, maybe took a few bites of grass, but nothing ever truly stopped his pace. He almost felt that is he did stop the crushing weight of his heavy heart might take over.

Never, has he felt this kind of agony. Losing his adopted mother to Paradise, and even Primrose's disappearance had not felt like this. Sure, seeing how Sanibel changed when she returned home was the first time a fire began in his belly and the mystery of where his cousin went sent him on such a passionate journey to find her, but nothing was like this. Feray was found in a difficult time and she had been the first light to guide him to happiness. Lucifina had been a big help as well but seeing the sad look in her eyes as each day went by without her best friend was too hard to bear. He couldn't stare at the mare any longer until he did something to make it right.

Maybe he should go visit Primrose again. His cousin had a sound head on her shoulders so advice from her would be received well. Roheryn goes on and on in his head until he feels his head bump into something hard. He snorts, instinctively backing away from the solid object, as his sky blue eyes trail up the body of the brown blanket mare. She was quite tall, maybe even a giant compared to himself, and he caught the sight of tears right away. The golden stallion gasps in worry that he might have hurt her somehow. "Oh I'm so very sorry!" He scrambles to repent, head bowing at her respectively, and legs carrying him further away from her.
