Use caution when the wolf comes knocking;

He had not expected to come upon the pale mare of sand colored hues after her departure from their encounter on the beaches of the forest. He had not cared for whatever plan it was that Celestria thought to put into play. However it had been her eyes... those eyes caught the attention of the wolf and left him searching for answers.

The beast had not missed it. The look of suspicion and even hints of fear in her eyes that day. It had drawn his attention away from father and son to lay feral yellow gold eyes upon her. The tension under her skin spoke of times past and yet despite the countless moments sifting through the files in his mind, Rougaru could find no memories. Not of her. Hell he did not even know her name.... but he would.

It was the wolf who first caught her scent. Rougaru had been gun-ho about returning to the heat of the battle when the beast caught the faintest wisps of her flesh upon foliage. In that moment he and the beast had been in one. They would find this pale woman. He would learn the reason her eyes had been filled with such distrust and disgust. He would take her home to Paradise. That would teach Jabari and Shamwari. They would learn who it was that they must fear. Warsaw was not the only threat upon these islands. He was a force himself.

That wolfish grin spread across his whiskered lips as step by step he followed her trail. The forests were much like his jungle in that the damp undergrowth held tightly to the scents of those that pass through. Here and there he caught glimpses of her chocolate colored hairs snagged among the thorns and clustered low hanging branches, assuring him that she was indeed near. He was the wolf after all, not many can avoid his searching mind when it is made up.

Depthless emerald eyes glitter in the pale glow of the moon. Her pale hide stood out in stark contrast to the dull browns and black shadows that surrounded her. It was odd really, despite the turmoil that surrounded them, the sounds of horses screams and thudding bodies, she still felt secure enough to lower her head and drink deeply of the cool waters of the babbling brook. Strange indeed,

There was something about her that was familiar, a scent that clung to her body that nagged at his memory despite the near certainty that he had never come across her before. She was.... different.

The rolling of water over rocks would hinder her hearing, making sneaking upon her a much easier process than if the woods were dead silent. For once, the voice of the screaming horses was quite useful. His hoofs fall in near silence upon the ground littered in pine straw. He was careful to steer clear of the crackling dead leaves and fallen twigs that might alert her before he is ready. He wanted to give her very little chance to flee. He would have her on Paradise before the night was through.

Ears fall backwards as muscles bunch beneath his flesh, prepared to lung into motion should the need arise. For the moment she is blissfully unaware and unaccompanied... just how he likes it.

The beast cannot help the growl that rumbles deep within his breast as he breaks through the last reminants of underbrush that guard the woodland brook. Obsidian hooves grind over granite rocks as he steps boldly towards her careful to keep himself to the right of her, seperating her from whatever reinforcements that might overhear her screams. "Dangerous times to be wandering the woods alone..." he murmurs, his thick neck dropping even with his muscular frame. Thick cream and caramel colored locks hang in knotted ringlets framing the taunt muscles of his jaw. "Yes dangerous times indeed... I think it impossible to forgive myself should something happen to you. Cullen's men lurk these woods. Dangerous men. It seem only fitting that I guide you to safety." he murmurs, his voice a hushed purr. Thick whipcord lashes against his shadowed flanks, an audible snap against the lingering darkness of night.
