Meadow

The dark man took a moment to respond, and momentarily Ezra thought he may have overstepped a boundary, unsure of how the stranger before him was going to react. The man's blonde tresses were whipped over his dark hide by the wind, and for a moment Ezra's breath caught in his throat at the sight of him - he looked so regal, so mighty - and ever so slightly intimidating. Then he spoke, and reminded the colt hat he was a mere mortal, just as he, just as his sister, who was probably off making mischief with some unsuspecting soul by now. His eyes quickly darted to the horizon, checking for a sight of his sisters amber-and-white spotted coat before settling back on the colt before him.

He shrugged, feigning nonchalance. "I was being polite." he retorted matter of factly, the words rolling off his lips swiftly as the breeze carried them away. "You don't have to." He held his ground, not moving any closer to the stranger, and dipping his lips to the surface of the water again for another drink - his journey with his sister had him parched.

"I'm Ezra." He returned the cordial formality, thinking to himself about how much he detested small talk. It took all he could not to roll his eyes and move along to find another plaything to entertain him, but he thought that might be a touch too rude - after all, he'd been the one to initiate the conversation, he should see it through.

"So - Noctis - what brings you here? And why are you alone?"
