*~My Next Collison Course~*

The other stallion stayed on guard but Collision could respect that. He didn't know if it was a trick or not, if Collision was just trying to lure him into a trap or stall him until others could ambush. Of course, that wasn't Collision's plan. He didn't come here with a plan really. He was trying to do his part since he'd signed up to help Cullen in the war that he didn't completely understand then Argento put doubts in his mind and he started to question everything after that. The moment he brought up Shenzi's name, Collision felt something in the air shift between them. The other stallion actually seemed to relax. Did he know her? The stallion confirmed as much a moment later and Collision's ears pricked and his head lifted in surprise.

He called Shenzi a friend and said he had reason to believe she was already gone. Collision's ears flicked back. Gone? She would leave without saying good bye? He had promised he wouldn't abandon her. Did she leave instead? The idea hurt more than he thought it would. When he mentioned what she said about the war, Collision chuckled. "Sounds like her." He could understand it though. After everything she lost with her former herd, of course she wouldn't want the Lagoon to run off to fight a war. The stallion then gave his name as Kendry and said he was once a member of the Lagoon himself. That made Collision's ears prick. He said that others labled you just for being a member and he tilted his head. He couldn't say that was his personal experience. The mare in the Meadow didn't judge him, only questioned why he was in the Lagoon when he didn't seem to fit the usual mold.

And Shenzi didn't seem bothered that he was a member of the Lagoon. Of course her history was with bachelor stallions anyway so maybe she had her own expectations. Something in the stallion's tense posture told Collision he had bad memories of his time with the bachelor stallions. When the stallion spoke again, Collision straightened. He told him to join him and that they weren't enemies. His ears flicked back and forth uncertainly as he weighed his options. He still remembered why he'd joined the Lagoon in the first place, but maybe his time healing from the betrayal was done? Maybe it was time to venture out into the rest of the islands and see what was next for him? Finally, he spoke, choosing his words carefully and hoping he didn't offend the stallion. "I truly appreciate the offer. I don't doubt the validity of your words, but I would like to know for sure that Shenzi is somewhere safe."

If it made Kendry feel better, he would leave the Forest now and take himself out of the war. He could return to the Lagoon to look for Shenzi, just in case she was still around the outskirts. Once he got her somewhere safe, then he could worry about his own decisions. When it was just himself to worry about, he would have joined Kendry in a heartbeat but he couldn't make a decision like that when he had others to think about. He had to know she was okay, that she wasn't somehow waiting for him to come back. He had given his word to her and he wouldn't break it. His gaze watched Kendry, gauging his reaction. "My name is Collision, by the way. I am not your enemy. I am not the enemy of any save the ones who prey on the weak and vulnerable."
