Annette inwardly gives a sigh of relief, thankful that the first horse she approaches was not a brute or had improper manners himself. Our russet lady took pride in the manners she had acquired herself given the lack of communication she'd had as a young foal. Until she was a year old Annette had no name, meekly following her mother along as she tried to find someone on the main land who could help . Not everyone was fond of the mute woman however, finding her lack of speech defected and would always note that she should have been cast out long ago; whatever that meant. Annette takes in the stallions honest face a moment longer before answering him.
"It's been a few days i do think," she ponders, ears slanting back at the unsure answer but it was true and it was embarrassing, "sorry, i'm not the best at keeping track of the time. It's my mother, she tends to wander but the islands are her home i do believe; she's never told me anything about them". or anything at all if we're being honest. Annette holds her tongue at that part, ears turning towards him again.
"uh...she's a bay mare whose tall and has these long hairs around her hooves? Not the best explanation but my mother is rather plain and is probably blending with the crowd. She's also a very quiet thing, i don't think I've hardly ever heard her utter a sound but maybe i just tuned her out," Annette sadly goes on, the innocent little mare did miss her mother dearly; she mostly missed having someone at her side to pull her close and shelter her from everything that was bad about the world.
"If i knew her name i'd give it to you but i've always called her mother for as long as i can remember, its been just us." |
