Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

Older Verrat would have hidden away and avoided his new fate, but younger Verrat just wants his daddy. He whimpers in pain as he slowly moves away from the Peak mare and deep into the Lagoon where he finds his father lying in the snow. Cullen knows the answer without his son having to say anything. He could see the pain on his child's face and his inability to properly move one of his back legs. "You did good son," He says. For once in his life, Cullen shows mercy to the only horse in the Lagoon who took responsibility for their fate. Verrat was the only one who answered the call when his father could not.

"I'm sorry dad. I tried." Tears pour from his waterlogged eyes as he drags himself towards his sire and presses his head into the golden stallion's shoulder. "I'm sorry." He says this over and over while Cullen tries to shush him quiet. "You tried your best. You are just learning how to fight so the loss was expected. Don't beat yourself up over it. Everything will work out fine. Rest yourself." Verrat nods with a shaking of his shoulders. The pain in his hips was intense, but slowly it was now beginning to numb. He figured the healing process would be a long one, but that wasn't what he was worried about.

"I don't want to leave you alone like this." He says as he pulls away from his father. "Don't fret over me Verrat. It is not my time to go just yet. We will see each other again. Now go to your new home so you can find a good resting spot for that leg." Verrat nods reluctantly before dragging his injured limb away from where his father hides. He didn't know how to tell his father what Bozena had said to him. She made it sound like everyone was being forced to the Peak, but him. He wasn't going to leave the stallions to suffer by themselves while he stayed behind. This was his loss and he would take the punishment like a grown stallion. He makes it towards the entrance to the Lagoon between the commons and his murky home, but this is when he comes across her. "Kal?" He questions her name because as far as he knew, he could be hallucinating from the pain.
