Everything had changed all over again. Bahadir, who she'd grown close to in her time with him, was gone and Shaydowfax came back to the Dunes. They'd only started catching up with each other again and before she knew it, the buckskin mare was gone and her scent was all but absent from the dunes. The first glimpse Illusion got of the new stallion as he crested the hill, she took him in curiously. He was slender and yet buckskin in color just as Shaydowfax was. He seemed comfortable here, as if it was familiar to him. And then there appeared a black mare at his side, though it wasn't Shararat as she had first hoped. They were both strangers and when they spoke, she caught an echo of it on the wind and her ears flicked back in uncertainty. Were they speaking a different language? However would she communicate with them?

Her yearling daughter, Raptor, clung to her widening sides as she watched them, with apprehension in her own youthful gaze. "Do you think they'll let us stay, mom?" Her daughter questioned and Illusion offered her a warm smile. "Of course, darling. This is our home." The same apprehension bit at her own heart but she wouldn't let Raptor see it. She was heavily pregnant and due any time soon so she couldn't very well swim to another island right now. She could only hope the new leader wouldn't push her out before her child is due. Sadness gripped her. Would Bahadir care to meet his new child when it was born? She knew he was in the Badlands still. She could always go visit him. Would he want to see her after she chose to stay here when Shaydowfax took over? Would he consider it a betrayal? She shook her head of such thoughts. He was a kind stallion and knew they were friends. Surely he wouldn't hold it against her.

Right now she had other things to worry about. She pretended to graze, since her hunger was insatiable, but her ears stayed focused on the buckskin stallion, wondering when or if he would approach. Raptor chose to stay close by, wanting to meet him as well but unsure how to proceed.
