GOD WON'T SAVE YOU NOW (Open)

Warsaw
you should have known the price of evil

Something was wrong.

"Daddy!" His head turns sharply with a crack to view his daughter rushing towards him. "What's wrong?" Claymore looks beyond frantic. She stops in front of him, but she was unable to talk for the first few seconds. Tears flood her eyes as her, but as she tries to talk she nearly falls over from the shaking of her legs. "Claymore clam down. Just tell me what's wrong." He steps towards her and runs his nose along her shoulder in a comforting way.

"Its momma...and brother and sister." Her shoulders rise and fall dramatically. "Show me," Warsaw replies as he stares in the eyes of his frightened child. He knew something was off, he had felt it even before she came to him. Claymore leads her father to where the spot her mother had slept that night with Neferyt and Battleborn. Even since the colt's birth, Claymore has strayed from her family because of her jealousy. She had never wanted a new sibling.

Now she just wanted her family back. Warsaw's nose lowers to sniff some blood mixed with the last bit of spring snow and pressed into the mud nearby. There were a couple of small drops, but they all smelled of Neon. Battleborn's birth was only a few days ago so he thinks maybe this had been the spot he was born or maybe something else had occurred here. There had been a pack of wolves nearby last night.

He remembers hearing the vicious howls and calls throughout the night, but he had not gone to check knowing Vita Nova and his sons were safe at his side. Regret washes over him as he begins to put things together. Neon and his children were gone, save for little Claymore. He steps towards his shaken daughter and wraps his neck around her smaller one. "Shh," he tries to quiet her wails.

It couldn't be said for certain if part of his family had succumbed to the wolves last night, but he was sure Neon and two of their children together were gone. They could hope for their safety elsewhere. "Don't worry I'm sure they are alive. Your mother is tough. Claymore, I told your mother she could leave if she wanted just yesterday. She knew the birth of Battleborn was hurting you so she left you here with me." He had told Neon she could leave so maybe she up and left thinking he no longer care for their family.

"She didn't say goodbye. Big sis either," she sniffles as she begins to collect herself from her heavy crying. "I know." He sighs. Maybe it was better if she believes her mother just left without a goodbye instead of a fate of being eaten alive. It might be better for him to think this too. He unravels himself from his hold on Claymore and watches her slink away into the forest.
