Besides the SecDef, add Gen. Milley, Head of the Joint Chiefs, to the mix. Although I disagree with Mattes et al, they are retired. It's plain that the Pentagon has gone political to a degree that's not in the best interest of the nation. From Washington leading an army against the Whiskey Rebellion, the military has been at the beck and call of the president in the way he decides to use them. Apparently they never learned "The Laws of the Navy."
Take heed what you say of your seniors. Keep your words soft spoken and plain. Lest a bird of the air tell the matter, And so ye shall hear them again.
IMHO, Trump should fire the whole damned lot and staff the Pentagon with warriors who know how to follow orders, no matter how much they disagree.
