Mother Goose is just a fairy-tale

Goose was ecstatic to say the least. That was saying a lot though. He was delighted in her choice of joining him. His eyes shimmered with a glow of spirit and compassion. His ears swiveled to catch the sounds of her movements against the landscape they moved over. The rustling of the grass in the brisk air. It was a crisp; clean sound and it left him breathless. The Bay was glorious. It was his. It was theirs. His family's and his. That was right! He belonged here and they had chosen to belong too. They were all so different and yet; they held a common thought. They adored The Bay and everything it could be.

The sea could be as beautiful as it could be deadly. Goose knew this well enough. They had had a sibling. The pair of twins. The sibling had been younger of course. They had been swept into the sea and drowned. Goose could find himself thinking of their brother at times of silence. When he was alone his heart could ache like never before. How he missed their brother. The twins were haunted but she hadn't been there. She hadn't watched him fail. She hadn't watched him rush into the sea after him. She hadn't watched him at all. Duckie had no idea that he'd tried to save their brother and had so hopelessly failed. He was angry at himself but was it really his fault? No. It wasn't but he was haunted. He couldn't help blame himself but they never did. His family and his sister. They have never blamed him even though the burden he carries heavily.

He is pulled from his treacherous thoughts at her voice. Those brilliant eyes sweep to her and a smile brushes then over his lips. Now; the haunting memories are pushed aside again; for now. She is his focus and he clears his throat to speak. I am glad you think so. His deep tone murmurs richly toward her. She inquired then and he sighed contently. Long enough. A couple of seasons. I was under the presence of none but, I had accepted the offer of another to call this home. To take his place where he felt not the need to lead anymore. Goose paused and glanced out into the sea again. They too had gone. Had the sea claimed them too? Would they ever really know? Goose didn't think so. Perhaps they had found their way through the treacherous waters. It was something to hope for anyway right?

They are no longer here but a couple of them. It seems that most of the previous lord's family took to the sea for whatever reason and didn't come back. He smiles here though and pushes those thoughts away. It leaves room for this land to flourish under a new reign though. New adventures and delights. Not that they were bad; those here before. I've heard the rumors, but I am not going to judge another by the past. That seems so wrong to me. He worried not now though. He was watching his home begin to flourish and he would aim to keep it that way.

What brought you to the islands Loire? Goose is curious of course. He is quiet then and watching her as they moved toward the trees. Further inland; toward the warmth of their cover.
