Though her words had been clear dismissal, the stallion stands to argue more. Sakhmet only stops when she is forced too, her ears once again lacing into her mane. He would have given up anything to be with the one he loved, but she found that to be a lie. Here he stood, without her, name still intact, where as Eness had lost everything. At least, in the end, her beloved had not as her soul bound now to another, Sakhmet feeling as if she were only the deliverer.


“If she were so easily abandoned, I would have taken to the sea the moment we arrived upon the shore.” she replied, venom once again returning to her voice. “Do not pretend to know what I face, or the pain I feel. If you had loved her so, you would have disappeared to the winds as Eness and I did. As you all did, for the sake of your brother.” Sakhmet said, her chin raising once more. “I am not Soul Sewn or Wife because I was meant to be dead. The mark upon my face a reminder of the death I have already brought and should have faced as punishment. My existence is devoted to Eness for countless reasons you’ll never understand, a life too foreign for you to comprehend, with your titles and pedigree. So do not ask what I am willing to sacrifice or do for the only one that does not look at me or think of me with some other motive in mind.”


Though clearly Aldebaran had no ill for her, she could see that now after finding his true nature, he would be no different to her than anyone else. He did not look at her with the same gaze Atair had for Eness the very moment they met, nor did Sakhmet give into the fantasies that any stallion might be that way. For how could their creator be so cruel as to make her other half, if only she was to perish at birth?
