She left. He felt it like a bullet to the heart when he saw Vihaan's golden figure galloping out of the Desert and toward the water, hellbent on returning to her family in the Prairie. He wondered to himself if it would be the last time he ever saw her and the very thought made his chest feel so tight that he thought he might pass out from lack of oxygen. Could his heart possibly even beat with so little space? He let out a quivery breath and lifted his head, knowing he needed to be strong for the rest of the herd. He still had others who wanted to stay, and he'd heard mention that some of them stayed for him and that meant the world to him. Had he truly reached some of them and made them understand how much he cared? He couldn't shake the feeling that he'd let them down. The tobiano found it ironic that after all the battles with young stallions for his home and his herd members that he would lose it to another young horse all because he wasn't here when he should have been.
He held nothing against Galexia for her ambition, but he couldn't just walk away from his home. At least he wasn't kicking him out, but he did want to understand his new place in it. He needed to figure out his next move. He didn't know if he could bring himself to fight her for the ownership of the Desert but he felt it was his obligation. He couldn't guarantee his herd members' safety because he didn't know Galexia or the stallion she assigned to be her co-lead. They were both young and inexperienced in battle compared to him. He knew he only had himself to blame for this mess and he would stay to see it through but he knew he needed to have a discussion with Galexia face to face. He needed answers. Venturing through the Desert, he gave out a low whicker, knowing she was near.
