I don't really like myself without you Cont. Kvothe/Lakota/Open

guarner
Brunhild watches Kvothe with a playful smirk as she reads the reaction on her face. She was curious to see how the pregnant mare would respond to her teasing, but it was unfortunate the mare seemed so leveled headed for her age. It was safe to say Brunhild was looking for a rise out of the mare just like she had gotten from her sibling. She nearly gasps when Kvothe mentions she noticed the resemblance between the two. Ironclad and his sister both look at each other with a snort, as if that couldn’t be true, before turning their eyes back to Kvothe. The chestnut admits her nature tends to be gentle and quiet, just as she fears. Her brother probably had this mare doing all kinds of things she wasn’t really into. Her eyes narrow on the mare’s belly for a couple seconds before she finds the mare’s eyes.

”Well, make sure to tell him the truth Kvothe. If you don’t like it here say so.” Part of this was to get her brother back home where he belonged. If he wasn’t in the Shore, he couldn’t get in the way of her current master plan. Brunhild takes a step back as the two begin to talk of the little family they were building. She stays quiet and just watches them, studying. Ironclad watches his eyes out of the corner of his eyes wondering what she was up to besides just telling him father had gotten back the Inlet. Brunhild had a knack for causing trouble, but she usually never got in trouble for it like he did. His attention was quickly brought back to Kvothe as his mind became filled with getting his family back to their rightful home.

Anxiety set in his belly not only for the missing Lakota, but also for the fact that his child could be born any second. They had to hurry if there was any chance of making the swim. His muzzle reaches out to his chestnut beauty the instant she answered his question on their daughter’s whereabouts. ”Don’t worry I am sure she is okay. Xiomara wouldn’t let anything happen to her or to you.” Her name slips off his tongue before he could catch himself. He thought it was true that Xiomara would protect them just as she protects her own herd, but he didn’t like bringing her up around Kvothe. Not after the betrayal. He lets out a sigh of relief as Lakota appears among the jungle’s foliage.

He smiles warmingly to the growing filly as she grazes the gathering with her presence. He chuckles as the filly prods his shoulder and asks what he wanted. ”Well my daughter it is time for us to go home.” A broad smile spreads over his lips as dark blue eyes watches her reaction. Greying ears flicker as Kvothe’s voice catches his attention and brings his eyes back to her. His tail flips excitedly at her answer of going home. ”Then we must hurry,” he says as he begins to usher the group towards the sea. He stops for a minute to look back at the Shore with eyes searching for its Queen. ”I will have to come back later to tell Xiomara we are leaving.” He thinks out loud to himself before turning back towards his herd and entering the water.

Brunhild positions herself near Lakota . ”I guess you’re my niece then? I am Brunhild, Ironclad’s sister.” She remembers seeing the filly around the Inlet with that older brindle mare Ironclad kept around, but she was sure was filly wasn’t a blood relative. Once they were in the sea, Ironclad motions his daughter to get in between himself and Kvothe. Brunhild brings up the rear as they swim towards Tinuvel. When the island was finally in sight, Ironclad lets out another sigh of relief.
