13.1hhs – 3yrs3 yrs old – british spotted pony – bay leopard

Though the little spotted mare had not known Kvothe personally, she felt a worry settle in the pit of her stomach when realization hit that the red mare was gone. If it had not been enough on itself, seeing how Ironclad reacted furthered her worry. The young stallion had already lost so much, how could he stand to lose anymore? Lace couldn’t help but feel the cruel twist of anxiety in the pit of her stomach each time she thought of it, always envisioning that Ironclad would throw himself to the sea in search of his dam and sibling without a single glance back.

“Isn’t that what you did?” she hissed at herself, shaking her head before her mottled nose caught the rank scent of death. It quickly ripped her from her spiraling thoughts, and she noticed the distant figure of her stallion and his sister making their way towards the awful smell. With a flick of her fuzzy ears and a snap of her tail, Lace decided it best if she went with them. If not for the chance to be around the grey stallion a little bit more.

Short legs break into a trot to cross the dip of land that had separated them, losing sight of the two among the trees they disappeared in. Only when Ironclad’s voice raised up ahead did she break into a gallop, only stopping again when she spotted him facing off with a stranger she assumed was a stallion. Briefly, she did glance over and notice the rotting carcass, but the pony mare at least had the sense to stay away from it. Skirting around the reeking animal, she hurried over to Lakota. Again, though she had never officially met the filly, Lace knew she was important to Ironclad.

“It isn’t safe here.” she stated, as if it wasn’t obvious as she come to stand between the young filly and the two stallions. “We need to head back” As if the current chaos around them was not enough, another figure of a stallion caught Lace’s blue gaze. Turning her head, she saw it was another pony mare. Lace offered no greeting, her attention returning to Lakota as the filly did not need to stay here.
