i'll get under your skin Aldebaran

The night sky was dark overhead, the clouds hiding most of the stars as the lone mare paraded fearlessly over the sand dunes. Her wide eyes took in the expanse of her home, daring to stretch her legs and stride out that much more to eat up as much ground as she could. Sure, she trip in a rabbit hole or something but it was a waste to fear the what-if's. Her past had taught her as much. Her parents lived in a bubble of safety and tradition. They didn't expand past that bubble, not wanting to risk the unknown. They tried to keep her in that bubble, too, warning her not to stretch too much, not to want more than what was offered. Well, screw that. Corona dared to dream from the moment her tiny hooves hit the ground. She pushed the limits and kept stretching, always wanting more. It scared her parents, this fearless way she lived her life. That's why they tried to rein her in using Vapor, the stallion she was supposed to marry and live out the rest of her days with.

Ugh. Just his name made her skin quiver with distaste. How she loathed that useless pile of horse flesh. He was everything she detested about her breed and more. "Don't step in that mud. It'll take days to clean that off your ankles." "Come out of the sun, honey. You'll burn your pretty skin." "Give your legs a rest, dear. You won't always be this young and strong." Ugh. What a tool! Giving her head a toss, the gray mare danced across the sand, throwing up clouds behind her like smoke trails. Her light coat shone brightly in the dark of the clouded sky, making her look as ethereal as the hidden moon itself. When she saw the reddish tint of another horse, her nostrils flared, tasting the air. It was one of the brothers she met when Sayyida first brought her to the dunes. Throwing herself up on her slender hind legs, she clawed at the air with her fore legs as a whinny fell from her lips, all but challenging the stallion before she came down with a rattling snort and tore off across the sand dunes, headed straight for him.

Her brown eyes twinkled in the dark as she closed in. What ever will he do?
