It seemed she wasn't the only one who questioned Ironclad's decision to take the kids to the cove and another stallion to look out for them. The red mare before her didn't look comforted at all by the notion and Medusa was sure she was going to run off at any moment to return them back to the inlet. In her own opinion, that's where they needed to be anyway: here. When she chose to ask about the fresian mare's own appearance though, there was hesitation in her gaze. Something was off, but Medusa didn't know what it was. She could pick up on the instant rise of tension in the air and her brow lifted in question. What was going on? She couldn't help if she didn't understand.

The mare then lowered her gaze to the ground, almost as if she was ashamed. Medusa's brows furrowed in concern and she took a small step toward the mare, somehow feeling like she needed to be comforted, though she wasn't sure why just yet. Finally, the large mare said that she left the inlet but not because she wanted to. There was no judgement in the painted mare's gaze as she listened. Her ears pricked toward her, giving her undivided attention. She said her daughter ran off but skipped over the rest to say Ironclad might have been right to take them away. At that, she scowled and shook her head. "I don't feel it's ever right to take a child from their mother unless they're endangered by said mother. I don't feel you put your daughter at risk. Kids run off. God knows I did plenty of times and gave my mom a heart attack." She admitted with a smirk.

When the mare suddenly started to cry, Medusa inhaled sharply. Oh, hell, what was she supposed to do with that? She said someone was trying to help her, a "he," and Medusa couldn't help but wonder if she wasn't talking about Ironclad. She lowered her head, trying to catch the fresian's gaze. "Who was trying to help you? Take your time, breathe. Tell me what happened." Her voice was soft, trying for soothing but she didn't know how good at it she was. Her mother was always good at this kind of stuff. She could pull a confession out of anyone without even trying. She used the trick on Medusa enough to convince her anyway. She could make her assumptions based on the evidence but she wanted to hear the mare say it. Saying it would make it real and that was as important to Medusa as the actual crime if it had been committed. She wanted the mare to come to terms with what happened to her, sooner rather than later. It was for the best.
