At first, his plan was going as smoothly as could be expected. He managed to make it all to the way up to her and yell. Her shriek was to die for and he almost fell on his butt laughing so hard. The filly scrambled back and he waited to see if she would fall in th water but no such luck. Instead, she got angry. That was....unexpected. He was used to the young ones being all scared and jumpy, easily spooked. He figured she'd be halfway across the Crossing by now. Instead, she was stomping her hoof at him and scolding him. Wrinkling his nostrils in distaste, his ears pinned back and he glared at the filly as she asked how he would like it. His shoulder rolled nonchalantly at her question. "I sleep with one eye open. Good luck sneaking up on me." He sneered the words as his tail lashed at his flanks.
When she suddenly lunged forward, he scrambled back, thinking she was going to bite him. Instead, she all but yelled into his ear as he gave a harsh snort and shook his head. His jaw clenched in irritation as she taunted him about it not being so fun and he tilted his head for a minute before his face relaxed. "I don't know, you tell me. Don't you feel better now? Yelling feels good, doesn't it?" A single brow lifted in expectation.
Her next question was unexpected and he snorted again. What did he look like, a friendly travel guide? He rolled his shoulders again and looked around. "I don't know, I think it's called the Crossing or Mainland. It's like the social place where herds come to hang out." The filly admitted she was lost and not from this island and he scowled. "You're kinda young to be out by yourself. Could get in some bad trouble all by your lonesome." His eyes glinted daringly as he purred the words.
