Mother Goose is just a fairy-tale (Open, Valka)

Broken. Is that all that Goose had accomplished to this moment? Once a proud leader of the Bay. Now; he was merely a figure. Bonds broken and relations silent. His own son was confused by his father's antics too. What was done though; could not be undone. Things had happened and deals had been made. Goose was not proud of what he'd done though. Everything had been for his family though. No one could tell him any different. Goose had done all of this for his family. Losing them? Subjecting her to that lifestyle? No! Goose would have never allowed it. Loire could never be forced to be a part of that. Goose had given them fair chance and time and again; they had failed in his eyes. Not his Bay, but the Lagoon. They had asked his silence for a while to watch and learn. Goose had never had any intention of learning. Eventually they had proven what he'd been knowing all along. Silence and stupidity. They had failed their own time and again. They had failed to prove to him their greatness. Lackies that didn't even try? A right hand that barely made himself a force? All that one had cared about was the Lagoon's Cullen. His boss.

Goose was free now though. Goose continued to wonder. What had he done? What stupidity had he done? Foolish. Goose had trusted Valka but time had been running later. Goose threw everything into words and his shame was great. His anger even great toward himself. Could the great stallion redeem himself though? Was that ever in the hopes of the future? Only time would tell. Goose could hope. One could not change what they had done. Time could not be turned back unfortunately.

The pale creature's head hung low by his shoulders. His ears are tuned into his surroundings as he moves, but his eyes are cast toward the ground. A flick of his tail as he plods forward. Broken. Goose felt shameful. There was a guilty recognition there. Perhaps they would understand that he realized his wrong. His trust was in Valka but he'd grown impatient. He'd been so panicked. The life of his beloved was on the line. Not for death but he couldn't have let her be subjected to that. Valka had tried a couple of times it was true. Cullen had bested her. Goose did not blame her. Cullen was a spiteful and clever enemy. Cullen was strong in intelligence even if he were not in physical abilities. Now? Goose was home but at the cost of what? A promise. A deal he'd made with the devil himself. Cullen. Why? His freedom? Loire's freedom? Riddlers? Yes. Goose had done what he'd done so that Riddler had a choice in the future. Goose had told Cullen that he'd honor the deal but only in reminder that Riddler would make up his own mind in the long run. Riddler would decide where he chose to live upon his aging. Goose knew that deals with the devil were not a good thing.

Goose had been desperate though. Protect them. His family at all costs. Had it cost him though? Trust and compassion? Valka. What must she think of him now? Goose would tell her no if he realized that she thought she was a failure to him. To them. The Bay. Goose did not believe this at all. Goose could not know Valka's thoughts though. So many things swam in his thoughts. Hatred at himself. Anger. Shame. So many things. Comfort was not one of them right now. How could it be? Goose wanted desperately to tell them that he had not made any deals. Goose had panicked though and grown impatient of waiting and watching. Goose had come home free but at what cost? Was his son a prisoner? Goose didn't believe so. Cullen knew that Goose would come for him did he betray anything. Riddler would go there but not as a prisoner. Never that. His freedom would be his own. Otherwise? Well, Goose would come for Cullen and he would not stop. Another part of the deal had been to leave Valka and the Bay alone. Goose would reign down hell should any of these things not happen. Cullen would know what true hatred and defeat were.

Goose does not worry about these things right now though. His family and his friends are on his mind. Goose pauses finally and his head lifts. Rich eyes take in his surroundings and a call rings out. His ears swivel forward and he waits. Silent and watching. Would they come? Loire? Valka? Any of them? Goose doesn't know but he would wait.
