He didn't know when or even if he'd ever be able to break the news to Talien. Their son had joined the bachelor herd in the Lagoon. Dex had managed to track his son all the way across the Crossing to the herd and had seen him meeting with the golden paint stallion who led the band. Of course, lots of things went through his mind. He could always go drag his son out of there, but Chronos was technically an adult now. He needed to start making his own decisions, even if they weren't decisions his parents would agree with. Chronos had always been a lone ranger, wanting to be out on his own and causing trouble wherever he went. Dex and Talien tried to teach him manners and make him see the errors of his ways but he didn't really think any of it really stuck. In a way, he blamed himself. Maybe it was that darker side of him that made him black out and see red when someone threatened Talien. Maybe that was the side that Chronos inherited. It was a possibility, right? He knew if he told his mate about his fears, she would just try to talk him out of it, find reasons why it had nothing to do with them and Chronos was just what he was. He had to work out his own mistakes now. With a sigh, the bay stallion walked through the meadow, picking at blades of grass, but he wasn't really hungry. He knew he needed to find his mate now that he'd tracked down their son. She would want to know he was okay, but would she want to know the rest? He wasn't sure he'd be able to talk her out of trying to do something crazy.
