The sudden voice of her betrothed had Medusa turning her head, two toned eyes setting on the smoky stallion as he approached. He spoke to Arael first, telling her he hoped she was enjoying the Inlet. As he stopped beside her, Medusa felt oddly satisfied. There was a time when he might not have gotten this close, so awkward was their relationship. It seemed time was making things better. He even reached out his muzzle to her. The painted mare gave him this moment, letting her own velveteen lips brush against his chastely before she pulled back with an unreadable look on her face. He was looking at Arael again though, asking if she had met anyone else yet.

Meanwhile, Arael seemed more comfortable during their own conversation. She seemed only too happy to tell Medusa about Etheria and how she was the sun goddess who brought her here. Medusa tilted her head in curiosity. She held her tongue though, about to ask how the sun godess brought her here but something told her Arael was about to tell her. She then went on to say the goddess brought her to Ironclad and that she marked her chosen with light coats. The painted Queen glanced back at her own spotted coat before she gave a light snort and looked back at her. "Does that mean I'm half chosen?" She didn't want the mare to think she was making fun of her goddess so she sobered her expression and dipped her head.

"I mean no disrespect. I'm glad Etheria brought you here. The Inlet is lucky to have you." When she told her own story of betrothal to Ironclad and how she ran away, the mare furrowed her brows and Medusa couldn't help but wonder what she was thinking. She seemed to understand what a betrothal was and probably had her own opinions on it. The other mare seemed more interested as the conversation went on and when she asked for advice, Arael told her she didn't know what to say if she was this gracious, saying perhaps they were shy. The painted mare smiled with a nod. "You might be right. I try to reach out. I just don't think I'm so great with the younger ones yet." She let some of her own disappointment show in the last words as she looked down and thought of her ruined encounter with Lakota.

She wished she could go back and do it over, but she had to wait until she could see the young mare again, if she ever returned to the Inlet, that is. Medusa took a deep breath. She could hope, anyway. When Arael saw Ironclad, her eyes lit up and she looked so pretty greeting him like a good submissive mare. Medusa watched the interaction with interest. She told Ironclad it was beautiful here though she looked uncomfortable when he asked about her getting to know the other horses. At least she said Medusa made her feel more welcome and she smiled warmly at the mare in response. At least she wasn't a total failure this time. Ever the polite lady, Arael then asked Ironclad how he was and Medusa tipped an ear toward him to hear what he might say.
