comfort me with apples, for i am sick of love FERAY

Solomon wished he could have come to Luthien on happier terms, with a heart less troubled and a mind less distracted by what he might find. He might have better appreciated the mild climate and the blanket of deciduous trees that decorated the landscape. Most likely, Solomon would have stayed longer to chat and observe the other residents of the island to see what he might learn from them.

Now, however, only one creature consumed his thoughts as he trotted relentlessly from the Savanna northward. The land to the south had been almost devoid of habitation, and there had been no fresh traces of any mares or children, let alone the one that he sought. He wasn't particularly hopeful that he would find her, but the knowledge that Roheryn had lost her thrummed incessantly below the surface of his mind. He couldn't sit around the Cove and do nothing while she might be in danger.

Solomon had trusted Roheryn with this one thing - to keep Feray safe - and he had failed even in that.

It was only with great reluctance that Solomon had decided to believe that Roheryn would have at least checked the rest of Salem before going to Tinuvel. He didn't really trust the diminutive pony stallion to have done a good job searching, but he also couldn't imagine that he would also be so incompetent as to lose someone he cared about to a land on the same landmass as his own herd. And since Solomon had recently gone to Atlantis, he turned his attention instead to Luthien and the mysteries within.

This land - the Forest - held far more promise than the Savanna had. Various scents wafted on the breeze and he could see well-worn tracks leading from the beach edge where he walked up and further into the land. The lean tobiano dropped his muzzle to the ground and sorted through as many of them as he could until one reminded him of the glass-faced girl, and he began to follow it more inland. Solomon's gaze rose sharply to the trees beyond as he halted, unsure of how to proceed. He certainly didn't know the leaders of this land. They could easily be Feray's captors, rather than her protection, and he wasn't entirely certain that he wanted to announce his quest to the whole island either. A part of him had begun to wonder if his vocal quest for Cicek had led to her staying hidden from him for far longer than she had ever needed to.

Squaring his shoulders, Solomon moved forward. If the land owners did not care for his presence, he was certain they would make it known, but he had to know that Feray was safe. Even if the child she had carried ended up not being his own, he needed to know that no harm had befallen her.

"Feray? Are you here?" He calls to the empty shade, his gaze still adjusting from the brightness of the beach to the relative darkness of the trees. Worriedly, his gaze searches through the barely discernable trunks for any hint of her familiar figure. "Feray, I-" he begins, but the words die in his mouth. He what? Needed her? Yes, but he doubted she would come to him via such a statement. Wanted her? Of course, but that would be old news for his glass-faced girl. Was worried? Also true, but he imagined that she was aware that she was missed by now.

Ultimately he opts to lapse into silence as he swallows thickly, preparing to trudge further in once he has adjusted to the darkness.

OOC: For Feray, but if she brings the kidlets, Aysu is welcome too <3
