Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

Okay, so he'd lost. It still wasn't a total loss. He'd gotten his first true battle out of the way, and with an experienced fighter, at that! Chronos still felt pumped up from the fight, the taste of victory on his tongue when he managed to scrape the stallion's shoulder and ram into him. It surprised him more than anything when he felt teeth on his own flanks as he rushed past, but he had still let out a squeal of protest. The pinch of his skin stung and he felt his teeth puncture and draw blood. He had thrown out a back hoof in retaliation, but it was only half hearted, just trying to get away from the stallion's teeth.

It was nice to feel his front hooves make solid contact when he reared up, and luckily he saw the stallion coming this time to twist away when he tried to bite him a second time. Another squeal left his lips in defiance even as he came back on all four hooves and danced out of the stallion's reach. What he didn't expect was for the other stallion to compliment him. His ears flicked forward in surprise as he eyed the palomino roan with puzzlement. The stallion went on, saying he could teach him before teasing him about being quiet. That made Chronos snort and smirk. "What's the fun in that? I like to talk. And some day, others will learn to listen." He raised his head, meeting the stallion's gaze. "You already taught me a lot. You taught me the taste of another horse's blood, the swell of triumph when hooves meet flesh, the bitter throb of pain, and the sting of loss. Thanks for the lesson, grandpa."

When the stallon moved off, but dipped his head as if to follow, Chronos gave another snort, pausing only for a moment before he trotted after him. "I'm more curious than anything, though. Why would you want to teach me?"
