Clouds on the Horizon

A soul to drown

Perhaps there was a slight hint of disappointment on her features when the mare, insinuating she was a loon that enjoyed the storm, but she gathered no malice in her words. “If it helps, it is much better to enjoy it than wish to hide from it. It makes me feel alive.” Tempest spoke tilting her gaze to the horizon before letting out a gentle sigh. Turning her attention back to the overo mare, she was soon met with some answers to her questions though admittedly she would take what she could get.

Looking for someone. Well, that was certainly interesting though she had to admit, some of this mare’s words fell dead on her ears. The idea of looking for someone was appealing if only for the novelty of it. Nevertheless, the mare seemed almost disgusted at this individual she sought. Perhaps it was harmless though Tempest couldn’t convince herself it was nothing. The mare almost wished to know what they did wrong, but those types of questions aren’t typically acceptable for strangers.

Offering a soft gaze the gold-hued woman attempted to understand and in a roundabout way, she was certain she did. At the very minimum Tempest could see why the mare would want more eyes out for her target. A flaw she thought might be her questions could reach the wrong ears. It was a question she would save for later, she would prefer the mare not think she would cause any trouble in her...investigation so she kept silent for a moment considering her words as the mare continued on.

Tempest snorted and an ear flicked back in agitation at the mere idea of a mouthy show-off, though quickly returning to a more relaxed state. “I’m afraid not. You’re the first I’ve met on this island. I can’t say I very much like anyone who enjoys mouthing off. Much less would I wish for the company of someone that is full of themselves. I failed to mention, the name is Tempest.” She offered with a slight dip of her head. “As for your stallion, if you want me, or really anyone to help you might need a better description. Does he have any particular features that stick out? Scars perhaps!” The woman said in almost a delighted tone.

Taking a moment of consideration she cast her gaze to the sea. “Mouthy and full of themselves fit the descriptions of too many individuals I’ve come across in my time, with a gentle few being a minority.” She wouldn’t mark all as bad though she had no deep love for her own kind. Some sort of kinship, but all true bonds were broken and cast into the sea a long time ago. Hoping her eyes didn’t ring too hollow long enough for the mare to notice before her more energetic nature took over once more. Admittedly, Tempest knew she wasn’t much help however, maybe she could keep an eye out or even actively look. This was her first taste of excitement in too many moons.
