She didnt' know the tension making her own body twitch and carry on was spreading through the herd or she might have gone somewhere else to quietly vent. She didn't want her personal feelings for the mare to throw everyone else off too. Of course, she didn't regret her own feelings about the blue roan who thought she could just waltz into the Inlet any time she pleased and call for the leader like she was special. In a way, she knew Ironclad was to blame, too. She just wanted to hate the mare a little more. Maybe because he was young when they met and in a way, the draft mare had an advantage over him. She manipulated his feelings so she could control him, in Medusa's opinion. She never gave him anything in return. In fact, every time they separated, the tobiano mare only saw displeasure and resentment on his features for weeks afterwards.

It's like the roan lived to make him miserable, and she couldn't stand it anymore. She was his Queen, and that dominant part of her wanted to march right over and demand she state her motives or leave. The other part just wanted to attack on sight and worry about the explanations later. After all, she was her mother's daughter and even though she heard rumors that Monster was softening as she aged, there was no doubt that she still had a fierce reputation on Atlantis.

She hadn't expected someone to find her so quickly though. When the sweet-hearted mare's voice rang out, Medusa turned to face her in surprise, her ears laid back in shock for a moment before she recognized the gray mare. "Oh, Arael. Forgive me, I didn't know you were there." She offered a sheepish smile before her ears pricked, listening to the mare's question. The smile was short lived at those words, drawing into a thoughtful scowl as she took a breath and set her shoulders before letting it out, trying to relax a little. It didn't work, though. Finally, she shook her head slowly, gaze drawing down for a moment before she looked back up. "I'm sorry. It was not my intention to affect anyone else. I'm just.....I'm not used to feeling insecure."

There, she'd said it. She shifted her weight awkwardly as she looked away again, sure that Arael was going to chide her or laugh at her vulnerability. She was supposed to be strong for the herd, unbreakable. Instead, here, she was showing her youth with the same damn emotions she was fighting as a yearling.
