Lace watched from the shadows as Wroclaw pranced along side Brunhild. The colt seemed extremely fascinated by whatever his Aunt was telling him, though it made the pony mare want to curl her lip in disgust. Her gut twisted in both fear of what poison she had already spun into her son’s head, and fury. How dare Brunhild try to corrupt what was not her’s?! Especially when she had killed the last two she had given birth to. Yes, Lace knew. Which was why she avoided the mare for Ironclad’s sake to try and keep peace amongst the herd.


But there was only so much that the pony mare could handle.


When Brunhild and Wroclaw finally returned to the herd and the spotted boy trotted over to greet his greying father, Lace slipped out of her hiding place and strode over to the group. Having Medusa here to back her up would have been helpful, but she had not seen the Queen in awhile. And as lead mare, Lace knew she could stand on her own. It was whether she had to go against Ironclad or not.


“Witch.” Lace hissed, ears pinned to her skull, as her blue eyes cut across Brunhild like ice. “I am tired of your stench in the Inlet. You reek of the blood you have spilled and the venom you corrupt my son with. What good have you brought this family? What use have you been aside from bringing wolves closer to our doorstep?!” Lace stomped a front hoof, wishing it was striking Brunhild rather than the ground beneath.


“It is time for you to stop relying on your brother, and to take your sorcery somewhere else; leech. I will not stand for you to continue draining us.” Lace snapped out the command. She only hoped that Ironclad would not defy her and defend his corrupt sister instead.
