She had slipped off during the spring when the contractions hit. Lost and confused, she settled somewhere between the herd lands to give birth and when the smoky grullo filly stood on her legs, Medusa couldn't help the surge of pride and love she felt run through her like a tsunami. It was unlike anything she'd ever felt before. She was a mother. She never thought it would hit her like this. She also never thought she would be grateful to Ironclad for giving her the experience. While the mare knew she needed to return home so her mate could meet their daughter, she couldn't help but take her time and the days flew by as she bonded with Revna and watched her grow with confidence. But soon, the Autumn came and Medusa kenw they needed the protection of the herd. Plus, she knew she was going into heat again soon and didn't want any strange stallions getting any funny ideas. Ruffling her daughter's mane, she herded the little girl toward the Inlet, glad to be coming home and showing off her child. But as she walked over the borders of the Inlet, she could tell there was something amiss. A strange stallion's scent was on the borders, a challenger. Medusa gritted her teeth and her ears flattened to her skull in anger. How dare someone try to take her home! She gnashed her teeth and pawed the ground. Revna looked up at her mother in question, her eyes of blue and green showing no fear, only curiosity. Snorting, Medusa glanced around the herd with a sharp squeal to see who would reply. She could smell Lace and Ironclad's sister. A part of her also ached to see Arael as well and introduce her friend to Revna.
