Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

You’re not Salinger. Get over it. pirate's crew contd.

He listens to the oldest of them speak, nodding softly. Frey’s ears pitch forward. He’s excited to hear the stories of someone else, to learn what they’re about. Things in the world of adults, things that were all new to him. The yearling would be a man soon, but not… not yet. He speaks of the Bay, of the coldest island in the archipelago. “I’d like to see the Tinuvel, and all the rest of the islands too.” Frey’s tone is cheerful.

Over the snow crusted ground they travel. Frey can feel a cold breeze kick up, sending a shiver down his spine. It’s gentle at first, and then stronger. The storm was coming closer. It was nearing, and Frey was glad that they were moving back towards home. This one would be the biggest of the season, he could just feel it in his bones. Frey is excited by it, but maybe a little worried too.

Zevulun speaks of being overwhelmed by it all, and Frey’s eyes dance on his face. They’re wide, the rapt and intent curiosity of a child. He speaks of how close together they all are, and it makes sense. He could see each of the islands from the shore of the crossing, the island that had been the center of his universe and the only thing in his world so far. All of it makes sense to the yearling, but he can’t fathom it. It’s all so far beyond him for now. Frey is enchanted by the storyteller.

Ramiel speaks of adventure as they near the border of the Lagoon, and Frey’s gait picks up even more. His heart leaps. “An adventure, it sounds incredible,” he’s breathless, excited. “Have you been on adventures?” Frey is happy that these strangers have agreed to come with him. They have tales to tell, and he wants to hear as many of them as they have time for. A child’s wonder is something beautiful.
