The lonely nature of the frigid reaches of this place had appealed to Anath the most. Back in the days where Rodion and Koschei called it theirs, it was vibrant-- always seemed to be teeming with life. Something about the pair had attracted attention in spades, though Anath was never quite certain what. The appeal had been lost on her. Maybe that was what made her an asset to them, Ro especially. Ro. Still, her chest ached. Another ghost. Maybe one of the worst in the entire collection. Even in the days of hustle, of near permanent company, Anath had found solitude within the Inlet. Solitude is enriching, after all. Ro would roll in his grave if he knew that she missed him. The red mare before her had been patient. The nuance of her movement, of the way that she looked at Anath, would have been lost on her in her younger years. Now, it doesn’t quite escape Anath’s notice. Ignorance is bliss, and whatever this is now (self awareness), was not. That creeping self awareness, something many would have developed sooner, left the champagne mare suddenly feeling uncomfortable here. Should I have come at all? But it would be unlike Anath not to hunt ghosts. “I can’t stay for long, the Peak needs me.” The words are more to herself than to the red mare before her. Anath would take another moment to return to her own head. “I just had to make sure it was still here, sorry.” An apology-- rare, from her. “I’m Anath, forgive me.” She offers her name, with some finality. She’d skipped the introductions, but then, she often did. These days, her memory was getting worse. Time seemed to not be real at all, some days. Shining green gaze resting back on the stranger once more, it’s as if Anath is really seeing her for the first time. Anath "HEROES GET REMEMBERED LEGENDS NEVER DIE " |
